About Social Work Student Initiative (SWSI)

The purpose of the SWSI (Social Work Student Initiative) is to take action with the goal of educating students in Orillia about their wellbeing. Students can find it challenging to maintain a healthy lifestyle which can impact their mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, and social wellbeing. We will conduct a literature review to establish relevant psychosocial needs of university students. We will plan and execute relevant educational seminars for students attending university. We will approach our seminars from a strengths-based approach.
